This blog is a collection of the work I completed for a course through Cape Breton University, EDUC5105, Designing Web-Based Learning. It also serves as an online portfolio for links to other course work, posts from other courses and where I will be sharing some of my experiences as an educator through my own personal reflections as well as samples from my teaching endeavours. Exploring Internet Use
Below are two assignments completed by two different groups of grade nine students in Broad-Based Technology. After a few weeks looking at issues around Internet usage and privacy, the students had to choose an issue related to how teens use technology. Their objective was to create a research question and determine how the selected issue affected students at their school. The project was two-folded: to explore youth usage of the Internet so they could become more aware of issues surrounding the use of the Internet and young people, while also becoming familiar with the collaboative features of Google Drive and the applications it offers (form, document, spreadsheet, presentation).
