This blog is a collection of the work I completed for a course through Cape Breton University, EDUC5105, Designing Web-Based Learning. It also serves as an online portfolio for links to other course work, posts from other courses and where I will be sharing some of my experiences as an educator through my own personal reflections as well as samples from my teaching endeavours. You can contact me via email at allancarterspace@gmail.com or through "the Twitter" (allanmcarter).
Promoting Our School
The Media Studies 120 class are regularly involved in a learning activity where they have the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they gain by producing videos. They sometimes produce promotional videos. Because Blackville School is a K-12 facility, the students have to decide what their focus will be and what aspect of the school they want to promote. I discuss the induction and details of this Project-Based Learning experience, as well as an offshoot project, in a blog post. Below is the framework that has been used, sometimes followed faithfully and sometimes adjusted, depending on time constraints and the availability of external sources. I also embedded a few of the videos that were produced.
